Not a student was stressing, not even those devoid of knowledge.
The assignments were written and planned out with care,
In hopes that good grades their hard work would bear.
The kids were nestled snug in their beds,
No colds, no illness to hinder their heads.
Their hard-partying tendencies were tempered by reason,
As they profited cleanly from the holiday season.
For danger they foresaw at the semester's beginning,
The perils, the crises, the hardships not worth living.
More rapid than eagles these troubles they came,
The students, they affronted them and called them by name;
"Now, Worry! Now, Qualms! Now, Doubt and Pain!
On, Torture! On, Disturbance! On, Fright and Weight Gain!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
A wink of their eyes and a twist of their heads,
They knew prevention was the key to avoiding such dread.
With these products galore they became slightly wiser,
They had the keys to success (without the help of advisors)
Last final taken, they exclaimed ere they drove out of sight,
"Happy Vacation to all, and to all a good-night!"
Combat colds before they develop with Airborne tablets ($7.49), chock full of vitamin C, antioxidants and electrolytes. SudraCare's Shower Soothers ($5.69) clear up congestion by releasing vapors of menthol and eucalyptus when in contact with running water. (All available online at Drugstore.com.)
Napkins, Post-Its and scrap paper aren't going to cut it when it's really time to get organized. Try the quirky notepads from Knock Knock. The "Accomplish" pad provides planning space not only for "today," "tomorrow," and "weekend," but also "some day" and "maybe never." There's also a straightforward to-do list, complete with checkboxes for errands, tasks and correspondence. ($6.99, available online at KnockKnock.biz.)
If your mother ever told you that frowning would make your face stick that way, she was completely lying to you. However, stress does bring out wrinkles prematurely. Take some time to relax with Frownies, dermatologist-approved facial pads that have been around since 1889. The adhesives "re-educate" facial muscles to reassume natural appearances. ($19.95, available online at Frownies.com.)
Recovery from Winter Weekend (or in some people's cases, every weekend) just got easier with PartySmart. When taken before drinking, the completely natural supplement reduces symptoms of hangovers. ($9.99 and up, available online at PartySmart.net.)
Avoid caffeine crashes by supplementing your morning coffee with Bath Buzz's caffeinated soap. The peppermint-flavored bars supposedly supply 200 mg of caffeine per shower. ($6.99, available online at ChemicalEvolution.com.)
GoSmile's mini touch-up kits erase tooth stains before they set in. In tasty flavors like pear, peach and mint, they're sure to keep your pearly whites shining. Because despite caffeine crashes, what student is honestly going to give up coffee? ($8.00, available online at GoSmile.com.)
