As SGA President, Ka'Neda Ellison hopes to accomplish a variety of goals throughout the academic year. Ellison separates SGA aspirations into three categories: the enhancement of visibility, the advancement of transparency through the SGA website, and the creation of active school policies regarding parking, parties, and public safety.

One primary goal of Ellison is to increase SGA visibility on campus. According to Ellison, "In the past students have expressed that they either do not know the purpose and duties of the SGA or feel as an unappreciated part of the SGA...In order to have an involved campus we must dispel both of those beliefs." Ellison continued, "To do this, the SGA Cabinet plans to increase our overall presence on campus as well as attend dinners in houses to learn the concerns of all students...On other fronts, committee chairs and class presidents are making steps to ensure that all students are aware of what their committee does and encourage more student involvement in every aspect of change."

Ellison also intends to increase transparency on campus by enhancing the SGA website. Ellison stated, "with the launch of the SGA website and other advancements in communication, the student body will have a greater sense of exactly when, where, how and why decisions are being made and how much their voice contributed to the outcome." Ellison also noted that "the website will be an extremely useful tool in getting information on dates and deadlines, as well as information regarding SGA events."

In terms of SGA action, Ellison is working to create school policies that address contentious issues on campus. "After the creation of several Ad Hoc Committees last year, the recommendations have been made and discussed; now, it is time for the SGA to act and help facilitate their implementation," said Ellison. Finally, Ellison commented that "advancements in Party Policies, Parking and Public Safety, as well as restoring and saving traditions that form house community are some of the objects set by the SGA for this academic year."
