Thrower Katie Walters-Krohn '06 broke two of the Smith records she set at the UMass Lowell Invitational. She threw the hammer 146 feet and 10 inches, breaking her previous record of 140 feet, 6 inches. After waiting almost 10 hours to compete, she had to keep her discus warm by sitting on it as the temperature dropped. Despite these conditions she threw the discus 128 feet, 6 inches, breaking the Smith mark she set in 2004.
Smith Crew won its second straight NEWMAC championship. Each boat finished in the top two, and all of the Varsity boats won their races.
