To the Editor:
As the mother of a Smith student, I would much prefer to have males from visiting organizations spend the night in common areas rather than in student rooms. It seems that each house should be allowed to set its own policy, which could limit the number of guests or the number of times per month that guests are allowed in common areas. It would certainly be a shame if Smith's ability to host visiting debate teams, choirs, etc. fell victim to this inflexible policy.
