Barney Frank to Speak at Amherst April 16
Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) will give the keynote address at the sixth Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) Alumni Weekend at Amherst College at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, in the Cole Assembly Room in Converse Hall. The event is free and open to the public. A member of Congress since 1981, Frank is the senior Democrat on the Financial Services Committee.
Johnson & Johnson Chief Honored with Jill Ker Conway Award
On Friday, April 15, at 4 p.m. in the Alumnae House Conference Room, JoAnn Heffernan Heisen will be presented with the inaugural Jill Ker Conway Women in Business Leadership Award. The ceremony honors the accomplishments of Heisen, vice president and chief information officer for Johnson & Johnson and chair of their Women's Leadership Initiative, and Conway, the first female president of Smith and the founderof Smith's management program. Heisen's keynote address, "Women in Business- the Essential Ingredient," will follow the award ceremony, and a reception will conclude the event.
