Barbara Hill '59 was named Carnival Queen at Dartmouth Winter Carnival last weekend. She competed with 42 other girls for the title.

Amherst College announced on Monday the appointment of John William Ward to succeed Calvin Plimpton as the 14th president of Amherst College.

The spring's All-College Meeting on January 28 offered Smith students, faculty and staff the opportunity to hear incoming President Carol Christ address the community for the first time.
