Publishing Policy
The Editorial Board determines the content of the newspaper. Therefore, the views expressed may not reflect those of Smith College policies, faculty, administrators or trustees. Unsigned editorials represent the opinion of the majority of the Editorial Board. Signed columns and reviews represent only the views of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of The Sophian.
All letters to the editor must be signed and, if student-written, include the class year of the author. Letters are due to Capen Annex or via e-mail to sophian@email.smith.edu by noon on the Sunday before publication. Letters will be published anonymously only in extreme circumstances, as long as the author reveals her/his identity to the Editor.
Staff members strive to inform and entertain their audience in an objective, accurate, and ethical manner and will attempt to correct any errors before publication. If the Editorial Board determines a significant error has been printed, a formal correction will appear in the following issue.
