I didn't realize people are starting to meditate at such a young age, 12 years old that's great. I wonder how many schools are making meditation available for students at this age?

This is an excellent overview of the practice of mindfulness/awareness sitting meditation. The Pioneer Valley Meditation Center, on the 3rd floor over the Mountain Goat in downtown Northampton, offers open houses one Sunday morning every month, and provides free individual or group instruction by certified instructors, free hour-long meditation sessions Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and wide-ranging classes and programs. It's a beautiful, uplifted place, and friendly people.

Mindulness Meditation is just another name for the old buddhist meditation technique Vipassana. In fact it was said to be invented by Lord Buddha itself. For beginners it requires a little bit effort to master but after a dedicated and persistent session for a few months, this can be a life changing experience.
